RAGGITY ANNE

OK…so this wasn’t my band, and they recorded several albums, EPs and demos without me even knowing they existed. But in 1999 Raggity Anne had broken up but got offered a tour of Italy. Paul liked Academy Morticians so asked if me and Si would do some Raggity covers and write some new songs and do the tour. We did, and had the time of our young lives (missing two weeks of Sixth Form to do so, with our parents and the college’s blessing). While there a millionaire who saw us play fell in love with the new songs and paid for us to stay a few days more in Milan (at his mansion!) and record some of the songs I had written. Sure - why not? “Just A Phase” remains the song I am probably proudest of writing.
